(December 9, 2014) – Sophomore linebacker James Willette (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) and junior defensive lineman Josh Tilton (Seymour, Conn.) have been named to the All-Collegiate Sprint Football League First Team, as announced Friday by the League office. In addition, junior tight end Michael Holdridge (Peru, N.Y.) and freshman running back Demitri Moreno (Alhambra, Calif.) have been selected to the All-CSFL Second Team.

(November 1, 2014) – Freshman quarterback Taylor DeForge (Bristol, Conn.) hit junior wide receiver Shawn DeCost (Nashua, N.H.) for a seven-yard touchdown strike, which would stand as the game-winning score in double overtime on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team notched a 17-10 win over Post in Collegiate Sprint Football League play at LaMoy Field. Post’s lone touchdown on the day came in the third quarter, a 33-yard strike from sophomore quarterback Greg Volpe to freshman wide receiver Rahmi Roundtree.

(October 25, 2014) – Navy junior running back Eric Wellmon pounded his way 227 yards and three touchdowns while carrying the ball 30 times on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team held close for the first half but sputtered in the second on the way to a 45-21 defeat at the hands of Navy in Collegiate Sprint Football League play at Sodexo Field. Senior quarterback Derek Reddy (Natick, Mass.) threw for 164 yards and a score in defeat for the Ravens.

(October 18, 2014) – Senior quarterback Derek Reddy (Natick, Mass.) rushed for 128 yards and three scores and added another 60 yards through the air on Saturday afternoon, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team in a 36-15 win over Mansfield in Collegiate Sprint Football League play at Karl Van Norman Field. Senior quarterback Mike Maniscalco went 26-for-48 for 357 yards and two touchdowns in defeat for Mansfield.

(October 10, 2014) – A 16-play, 79-yard, fourth-quarter drive stalled out on the doorstep of the end zone on Friday night, which left the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team on the short end of a 14-7 loss to the University of Pennsylvania. Senior Derek Reddy (Natick, Mass.) threw for 92 yards and rushed for 55 and a score in defeat for the Ravens, while senior running back Mike Beamish led the way for Penn with 163 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

(October 3, 2014) – Sophomore back Andrew Jean (Irvington, N.J.) carried the ball 40 times on Friday night, on his way to 297 yards and three scores, as the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team piled up six touchdowns en route to a 45-7 win over Princeton in the Ravens’ first-ever on-campus Collegiate Sprint Football League game at Sodexo Field. Sophomore quarterback Chad Cowden threw for 184 yards and a touchdown in defeat for Princeton.

(September 26, 2014) – Junior Josh Tilton (Seymour, Conn.) notched three sacks and four tackles for loss to lead the defensive effort on Friday night, but the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team was defeated, 27-13, at Army in Collegiate Sprint Football League play at Shea Stadium. Senior quarterback J.J. Wartski threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns in the victory for Army.

Sprint Football Sacked at Cornell, Falls in Season Opener, 28-7

ITHACA, N.Y. (September 20, 2014) – Thanks in large part to eight sacks, the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team managed to net just 35 yards on the ground and turned the ball over three times on Saturday afternoon, as the Ravens dropped their season opener at Cornell, 28-7. Freshman quarterback Jose Melo (Greenwich, Conn.) threw for 151 yards and a touchdown in his collegiate debut, but also threw a pair of interceptions. Sophomore quarterback Rob Pannullo led the way for Cornell, as he rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 117 yards and two more scores.
