Four Golfers in Top-10, Ravens in Third After Day One in Keene

KEENE, N.H. (September 10, 2017) The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team stayed local and competed at their own tournament, the FPU Fall Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Keene Country Club.

The Crimson and Grey currently stand in third place after racking up a 304 (+16) showing after their first round. The Ravens are six strokes behind first place Southern New Hampshire University who chipped in a 298 (+10) round while Saint Thomas Aquinas College ranks second at 301 (+13).

Four Raven players, sophomore Keeton Foster (Spofford, N.H.), senior Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.), senior Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) and freshman Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) all golfed 76 (+4) scorecards and tied for ninth place in the individual standings. Sophomore Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) turned in an 85 (+13) card and finished Sunday in a tie for 48th place.

Other members of the Raven squad headed to Keene and competed as individuals. Sophomore Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn.) ranks tied for 13th place at 77 (+5). Teammate Nate Goldsnider (Bolton, Conn.) finished within the top-15 at 78 (+6). Anthony Vincequere (Millbury, Mass.) golfed an 81 (+9) through his first 18 holes while the duo of Jason Vadnais (Arundel, Maine) and Chris Strange (South Glastonbury, Conn.) rounded out the Raven scores at 91 (+19).

Foster was tied for second in par 4 scoring at 4.10 (+1) while Donohue ranked second in total pars (12) and Arisco was fourth in birdies (3).

The Ravens return to the links tomorrow at 9 a.m. for the final 18 holes of the invitational.
