Field Hockey: Ravens Take Down Saint Michael's in 4-2 win.

Burlington, Vt.- The Franklin Pierce Ravens field hockey program hit the road Wednesday night to take on Saint Michael's and brought home a 4-2 win. 

The win keeps the Ravens flying towards the NE10 postseason, as it improved their conference record to 5-5, good for seventh in the conference. Eight teams make the NE10 tournament.

The Ravens flew out to an early lead 2:54 into the game as Lily Zavras put home a rebound marker. That would be the score into halftime as standout rookie netminder Zoe Noorlag (5-7) made three of her five saves in the first 30 minutes of play.

Vicky-Louise Witkamp would put home the third goal of the day which turned out to be the game winner, 59 seconds into the fourth quarter. Witkamp put up a three point day as she assisted on the third quarter Caity Hazley goal. Two Bridgie Loughlin goals in the fourth for the Purple Knights provided the final margin of victory for the Ravens. The team heads to Mercy on Saturday, October 21 to take on the Mavericks in another crucial battle for one of eight NE10 postseason spots. The Mavericks, as of today, are tied with the Ravens at 5-5 in conference play. The Ravens will play at Mercy on Saturday October 21.
