RINDGE, N.H. (November 5, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team honored its seven-player senior class prior to the start of Saturday's contest against Adelphi, which was the team's final home game of the season. The celebrations eventually gave way to a 6-1, Northeast-10 Conference loss to visiting Adelphi at Sodexo Field, but not before senior tri-captain Christine Jarowicz (Kennebunk, Maine) could pick up an assist on Senior Day, as junior Anna Beck (Attleboro, Mass.) knocked home the lone goal for the Ravens. Sophomore Amanda Lee scored three times in the victory for Adelphi, for her second career hat trick.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 4-12 (3-8 NE10), while Adelphi improves to 10-7 (9-3 NE10).

Adelphi scored twice in the first five minutes of the contest to take a lead it would never relinquish. Freshman Emiline Biggin got things started just 50 seconds in, as she poked the ball in amid a scramble in front of the cage for her fourth of the season. Lee followed up with her ninth of the season in the fifth minute, as she tipped home a shot from the top-right of the circle by senior Giana McKeough.

Lee added her second of the game in the second quarter, as she finished off a 3-on-2 from the right side of the circle in the 25th minute. Biggin chalked up the assist on the play, with a feed from the left side.

A pair of goals just 3:15 apart in the third quarter pushed the lead out as high as 5-0. In the 33rd minute, junior Kylie Peregoy provided the setup, and graduate student Kaylee Deleva had the finish in front of the left post for her team-leading 12th of the season. Deleva then picked up a 36th-minute assist, as she centered from the left side for Lee, who completed her hat trick.

Franklin Pierce got on the board in the 38th minute, after Jarowicz earned a corner via a drive to the net down the left end line. Sophomore Rebecca Phillips (West Amwell, N.J.) had the initial shot on the play, from the top of the circle, which was turned aside. Amid a scramble for the rebound in front of the left post, Jarowicz was able to poke the ball free for Beck, who swiped home her fourth of the campaign.

Adelphi capped things in the 41st minute, to create the 6-1 final. McKeough sprung sophomore Jillian Riche in on a breakaway, and the latter made her way to the left post to put away her fifth of the year.

Senior MacKenzie Potvin (Goffstown, N.H.) finished with nine saves against 15 shots and suffered the loss (0-6) in front of the Franklin Pierce cage. Junior Amanda Montiel (5-1) stopped nine of 10 shots in the win for Adelphi, while Peregoy added a defensive save.

The Ravens wrap up the season with a pair of road trips in the coming week, beginning with a Monday voyage to St. Thomas Aquinas. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. at Spartan Field in Sparkill, N.Y.
