MANSFIELD, Mass. (October 4, 2021) -- Senior Feline van Doorn (Barendrecht, Netherlands) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, for the week ending on Oct. 3, as announced on Monday by the league office. In addition, freshmen Addy Araneo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Rebecca Phillips (West Amwell, N.J.) both landed on the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll.

Over the course of a 2-0 week for the Ravens, van Doorn piled up four goals, including a pair of game-winners, on 11 shot attempts, including 10 on goal. On Wednesday night, she scored the first goal in a 3-0 road win over American International. On Sunday, van Doorn struck three times, for her first career hat trick, in a 6-0 win at home over Molloy. On the season, she leads the team in goals (8) and points (17).

For her part, Araneo played 90 minutes in front of the Franklin Pierce cage on the week without allowing a goal. On Wednesday, she stopped all eight shots she faced to record her first collegiate shutout. On Sunday, she played the first half and did not face a shot, but recorded the win anyway. On the season, Araneo has a 2.18 goals-against average and a .750 save percentage.

Meanwhile, Phillips chalked up a defensive save on Wednesday in the win at AIC. On Sunday, she produced at the other end of the field, as she attempted six shots (three on goal) and scored her first career goal. Phillips now has two defensive saves and three points (1-1-3) on the season.

The Ravens (3-7) are back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Assumption for an NE10 contest at 7 p.m. in Worcester, Mass.
