WINCHENDON, Mass. (October 23, 2000) - A three-goal flurry in a span of 35 seconds Monday helped the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team end the regular season with a 6-1 non-conference win over St. Joseph's College at the Winchendon School.

The Ravens (10-6) now head into the first postseason tournament in the four years the team has been competing at the varsity level. FP will host Bryant in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference tournament Wednesday (3 p.m., Winchendon School).

FP struck first Monday on Senior Day when freshman Debbie Jones (Escondido, Calif.) scored the first of her two goals on an assist from sophomore Kelly Henry (Wyoming, R.I.) in the sixth minute of the match.

The Monks (8-8) answered back in the 25th minute on a breakaway goal by senior Tara Gagnon (Dixfield, Maine).

FP took the lead for good three minutes later on a penalty stroke by senior Lisa Harris (Rutland, Mass.).

Jones upped the lead to 3-1 in the 52nd minute, and the Ravens busted the game open by scoring three times in the 66th minute on goals by sophomore Chrystean Page (Turner, Maine), senior Heidi Nichols (Fremont, N.H.) and Jones.
