Women’s Cross Country 15th at Mike Woods Invitational

GENESEO, N.Y. (October 1, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's cross country program was in action on Saturday at the Mike Woods Invitational, hosted by SUNY Geneseo at the National Warplane Museum. The Ravens finished 15th out of 20 teams in the 6k race.

The first to cross the line for Franklin Pierce was junior Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.). She finished 101st -- in a massive, 274-runner field -- for her 24:59 time. Next was senior Victoria Van Houten (Wantage, N.J.), who claimed 122nd for her 25:25 time.

Graduate student Alena Masterson (Pelham, N.H.) took 143rd for her 25:45 time. She was accompanied by junior Jasmin Baillargeon (South Wheelock, Vt.), who ran a time of 25:55 to claim 145th. Then came graduate student Alana Thompson (Westampton, N.J.), whose 25:59 time allowed her to take 152nd place, as she rounded out Franklin Pierce's scoring five.

Also competing for the Ravens were senior Meagan Foley (Beverly, Mass.), who ran a time of 26:36, taking 174th; junior Emma Cutter (Newburyport, Mass.), who claimed 242nd for her 29:27 time; and junior Katie Peterson (Derry, N.H.), whose 30:18 time landed her in 248th place.

The Ravens have the upcoming week off, but will host their annual home meet in a fortnight. The Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup is set for Saturday, Oct. 15, at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
