Raven Volleyball to Host Be The Match Bone Marrow Event

RINDGE, N.H. (March 29, 2018) – Franklin Pierce University volleyball head coach Stephanie Dragan is proud to announce her programs participation in Be The Match Marrow Registry on Wednesday, April 11th during the baseball teams Northeast-10 Conference showdown with Southern New Hampshire University at 6:00 p.m.

This is the third time the volleyball program has hosted a Be The Match Event. A few years ago men's lacrosse player Eddie Noonan was a match and went through the donation process. The Crimson and Grey are asking people whose age range from 18-44 to come on down to Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field to make their donation.

The Be The Match Registry services patients in need of a marrow transplant who do not have a matching donor in their family. These patients need to find a matching unrelated donor that is willing to donate stem cells on their behalf. Be The Match helps the 14,000 patients a year that suffer from leukemia, lymphoma or a variety of bone marrow functioning diseases that need a marrow transplant from an unrelated donor.  Only 30% of patients in need of a marrow transplant have a matching donor in their family.
