Volleyball road woes continue, edged out by LeMoyne 3-1

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 31, 2014) – Senior Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and sophomore Aiden Garcia (Eagle Pass, T.X.) both notched double-digit digs, but it wasn't enough as the Ravens dropped the match to the LeMoyne College Dolphins by a final score of 3-1.

The Ravens came out slow after the long drive, dropping the first set 25-20. The second set, the Ravens came alive, clawing through to take the win 25-21. That set would be the only triumph for the Ravens during the match, as the lost both the third and fourth sets 25-19.

Swiderski ended her day as the top kill-getter with 15 on the match, while Garcia chipped in with 12, and had a team best .281 hit percentage with double digit attempts. Freshman Hannah Runge (Deltona, Fla.) helped make it all happen on offense, as she facilitated 41 assists and contributed two service aces. On defense, it would be junior Sarah MacHugh (Red Hook, N.Y.) leading the way with 16 digs, while sophomore Kelsey Hausman (Sandy, Utah) would be the other Raven in double-digits with 14 digs.

For the Dolphins, both Allegra Lee Bell and Natalie Casson finished with 13 kills, while Megan Maisonet tossed around 40 assists. Defense was the name of the game for LeMoyne all night, as four Dolphins finished with significant double-digit digs, led by Annie Stoklosa with 17. Bell also did her part on defense having a hand in three of the teams six blocks.

The Ravens return to the court tomorrow when they travel to Albany, N.Y. to take on Saint Rose at 1 p.m.
