FP Cruises Past Colby-Sawyer, 3-0
Johnson leads the way with 24 kills to help the Ravens notch their third straight win
NEW LONDON, N.H. (Sept. 27, 2001) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team knotted their third
straight win with a 3-0 decision over Colby-Sawyer College this
evening.
Junior Mandy Johnson (Orange,
Mass./Maher Reg.) led the Ravens with 24 kills and 11 digs.
FPC's tandem setters were outstanding as Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan
School) tallied 18 assists, and Catrina Cuevas (Puyallup, Wash./J.J. O'Neill
N.Y.) chipped in 14 assists, 15 digs, and six kills. Junior
Heidi Jensen (S. Glens Falls,
N.Y./S. Glens Falls) posted six kills and 11 digs, while
classmate Jamie Fulwood (Hamilton,
Va./Loudoun Valley) recorded 11 digs in the win.
Rounding out the bunch was senior Johanna Schubert (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Ann's
School) who registered eight digs for the Ravens.
Colby-Sawyer's Amy Callahan notched 12 digs, three kills, and three
blocks. Sophomore Amy Soubosky totaled 18 digs, and freshman Amy
Tryon added 17 digs for the Chargers.
The Ravens return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when they host
American International College in a NE-10 matchup in the FP
Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
