BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (September 20, 2001) - Franklin Pierce University cracked the victory column as it posted a 3-1 (30-23, 30-28, 21-30, 30-22) win over the University of Bridgeport at the Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium tonight.

Junior outside hitter Mandy Johnson (Orange, Mass./Maher Regional) led FP with a match-high 27 kills to go along with 15 digs, four blocks and one service ace. Classmate Catrina Cuevas (Puyallup, Wash./J.J. O'Neill, N.Y.) added six kills, 19 assists, 18 digs and two aces, while Jamie Fullwood (Hamilton, Va./Loudoun Valley) contributed nine kills, 16 digs and two aces.

Sophomore setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) chipped in with 24 assists and nine digs, while Heidi Jensen (South Glen Falls, N.Y./South Glen Falls) totaled 17 digs.

Freshman Kristine Rodriguez totaled 19 kills and junior Anna Henriksson added 14 kills to lead Bridgeport (1-5).

FP (1-3, 0-3 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday, September 25, when they travel to Easton, Mass., for a Conference battle with Stonehill College at 7 p.m.
