Track & Field Claims Women’s Title, Men Take Runner-Up Finish at Jim Sheehan Invite

FITCHBURG, Mass. (4/5/25) - The Franklin Pierce University track & field teams delivered a strong showing at the Jim Sheehan Invitational, hosted by Fitchburg State University. The women's squad cruised to a commanding first-place finish with 152 points, 36 points ahead of the next closest team. On the men's side, the Ravens tallied 146.5 points to earn a second-place team finish, narrowly edged by host Fitchburg State, who claimed the title with 153 points.

The day featured a series of standout performances across both track and field events. In the field, the men's javelin saw Noah Delgado place fifth with a throw of 46.17 meters. On the women's side, Lanette StJohn (34.90m) and Emma Crahan (30.25m) took third and fifth, respectively. Emily Nhun picked up a win in the women's discus (32.66m), while Ben Gilbert finished second in the men's discus with a personal best of 42.62m. Teammate Timothy Hastings also PR'd, finishing sixth. In the men's weight throw, Salvatore Lando placed third (44.60m), and Jay Candelario followed closely in fourth (43.17m).

The jumps saw continued success for the Ravens. Nate Donahue took first in the men's long jump (6.70m), and in the women's long jump, Abigail Jacobson earned third place with a personal best of 5.09m, while Issys Price came in fourth (4.92m). Antonio Adams Delgado turned in a dominant performance, winning both the men's triple jump (12.31m) and high jump (1.90m), with Owen Stevens placing fourth in high jump (1.85m). In the women's high jump, Jennifer Kulick claimed the top spot (1.51m), and Mackenzie Luth tied for third (1.46m). Elizabeth Jones earned the women's pole vault title (2.60m) as the sole competitor, while Quintin McDaniels (3.40m) and Sam Patton (2.80m) placed second and tied for fifth, respectively, in the men's pole vault.

On the track, Franklin Pierce dominated the men's 10,000 meters with a 1-2-3-4 finish. Ryan Outerbridge led the way (32:39.93), followed by Declan Morgan (32:44.53), Liam Doherty (34:00.81), and John Viens (34:02.80). The Ravens also captured both 4x100-meter relay titles—on the women's side, the team of Jacobson, StJohn, Sidney Chapman, and Price won in 49.54 seconds, while the men's squad of Donahue, Darren Romani, Ben Dragsbaek, and Stephen Harris clocked a winning time of 42.29.

Distance runner Tatum Seastrand won the women's 1500m with a personal best of 5:11.70 and added a fifth-place PR in the 800m (2:35.16), while Meghan Sheline took first in that event (2:32.26). Briahna Bouchard led a 1-3 finish in the women's 100m hurdles (15.53), with StJohn taking third (17.23). The women swept the top spots in the 100m sprint, as Price (12.84), Chapman (13.18), Bouchard (13.27), and Cora Knight (13.48) went 1-2-3-5. Harris won the men's 100m in 10.85 seconds, with Donahue placing fourth (11.45, PR) and Romani fifth (11.46). Jacobson also won the women's 200m (27.83), while Knight earned fifth (28.95). In the men's 5000m, Sam Fortin placed second (13:38.02) and Angel Mendo Alonso came in fifth (15:51.72).
