Nyjah Young-Bey Deemed East Region's Top Women's Outdoor Track Athlete by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La (6/5/23) – On Monday afternoon, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) unveiled their picks for the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Regional Awards, announcing Franklin Pierce senior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) as the East Region's Women's Track Athlete of the Year.

From an outdoor standpoint, Young-Bey is the third athlete in women's program history to earn top regards from the USTFCCCA, and the first since Julieth Nwosu's Field Athlete of the Year honor following the 2021 season.

Young-Bey recently made history as the new Pierce program record holder in the Women's 400-Meter, finishing the turn with a 54.38 race time at the 2023 NCAA DII Outdoor National Championships on Thursday, May 25th. It was her second appearance on the national stage, which added to a career accomplishment list that included six individual Northeast-10 Championship titles, three-time USTFCCCA East Top-Performer Awards, and ten USTFCCCA All-East Region honoree for both indoor and outdoor competition.
