Young-Bey Selected to Compete at the 2023 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (5/17/23) – On Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that Franklin Pierce University women's track and field athlete Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) was selected to compete in the Women's 400-Meter Dash at the upcoming NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 25th-27th in Pueblo, Colorado.

For the Pierce senior, it will be her second consecutive trip to the national stage for the 400-Meter. She will also be the lone Raven representative at the event.

Young-Bey recently added to her list of career accomplishments at the 2023 Northeast-10 Outdoor Championships, where she earned her sixth-career individual championship title with a 54.51 winning time in the Women's 400-Meter. Young-Bey had initially secured NCAA Championship standards earlier in the regular season at the massive Bucknell Bison Classic, where she finished the same event with a time of 55.95. In addition to her Championship win, Young-Bey's finishing time was recently tabbed as the best in the East Region for the 400-Meter by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), and currently ranks 2nd all-time in program history.

In her previous trip to the NCAA Outdoor National Championship in 2022,  the Garden State native turned in a single-lap time of 55.92, which was good for sixth in the seven-runner heat, and 18th overall out of a 20-athlete field.
