Indoor Track & Field Has 14 Honored With All-East Region Awards from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. (3/9/23) – For the second consecutive season, a group of 14 Franklin Pierce indoor track & field athletes collected All-East Region honors from the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), with four receiving recognition for multiple events this season. The official announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon by the USTFCCCA.

Per the official statement from the Coaches Association, "the top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams." The list combines for 19 total All-East Region awards, the highest totals for the indoor season in program history from the USTFCCCA. The full list of regional honorees can be viewed at the USTFCCCA website.

Senior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) led the way for the women's squad with all-region accolades in multiple events, claiming a regional-best finishing time in the 400-Meter (56.05), a second-best in the 200-Meter (24.90), and a third-overall in the 60-Meter (7.72). Joining her from the women's side is freshman Elizabeth Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.), who garnered regional recognition for her performance in the Pole Vault (3.06m), ranked second in the region. Sophomore high jumper, and recent NE10 Field Rookie of the Year Nouhayla Errahili (Fez, Morroco) rounded out the list, also ranking second regionally for the individual event (1.71m). Also from the field, junior Tyra Felton (Sterling, Mass.) hit the fourth-best mark regionally in the Shot Put, which was also good for fourth-best regionally. 

On the men's side, three different Ravens collected multiple honors. Junior Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.) earned all-region status for his individual performance in the 200-Meter (21.52), ranking third in the east, while also helping the Ravens' 4x400-Relay team to an equal ranking regionally (3:21.26). Joining Harris on the Relay front is junior Nathan Rinaldi (Bristol, Conn.), who also participated in the Distance Medley Relay event with fellow third-year Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) claiming a second-ranked finishing time (10:09.77). Outerbridge additionally acquired All-Region honors for his performance in the Mile Run (4:15.23), which was the fourth-best in the east.

Furthermore, junior Evan McNeice (Wethersfield, Conn.) and senior Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) were also members of the regionally ranked DMR squad, while freshman Lalo Lopez (Naugatuck, Conn.) and senior Devin Jones (Manchester, N.H.) completed the 4x400-Relay lineup. Junior Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) and graduate Sebastien Vicary (Ulceby, United Kingdom) each earned regional acknowledgement for respective times in the 800-Meter (1:52.56) and the 5000-Meter (14:58.17). Senior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) was the lone men's field recipient of All-Region honors, finishing with both a program-record and fifth-ranked mark in the Weight Throw (17.41m).
