Women’s Track & Field’s Telfer Collects National, Conference Awards

RINDGE, N.H. (March 28, 2019) – Senior CeCe Telfer (Lebanon, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team has been named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Athlete of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the USTFCCCA. In addition, she was named Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, for the week ending on March 24, on Wednesday.

Telfer became the first student-athlete in program history to earn National Athlete of the Week honors from the USTFCCCA. She posted a pair of event wins on Saturday at the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio, as she finished first in the 200-meter dash (24.30) and the 100-meter hurdles (13.72). Both times were school records and met both the NCAA Championships provisional and NEICAAA Championships qualifying standards.

The Ravens return to action on Friday, March 29, when select athletes will compete at the Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Fla.
