Swimming Participates at Second Day of Northeast-10 Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. (February 9, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's swimming team was in action on Friday morning at the second day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, hosted by Assumption College. The four-day meet is being held at the Sports & Recreation Center, on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The Ravens had four individuals in action in preliminary heats on Friday. Both freshman Emalee Frady (Anaheim, Calif.) and freshman Josephine Krysinski (Olympia, Wash.) took to the pool in the 500-yard freestyle. The former finished 29th, with a time of 5:48.57, while the latter placed 32nd, with a time of 6:02.52.

It was freshman Nicole McIntosh (North Pole, Alaska) who turned in the highest finish of the day for Franklin Pierce, as she finished 27th in the 200-yard individual medley, with a swim of 2:20.61. Freshman Mary Messina (Rindge, N.H.) rounded out the Ravens' participation on the day, with a 30th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, by posting a time of 26.47 seconds.

The NE10 Championships continue Saturday and Sunday on the campus of WPI.
