Bio

Steve Quinones '91 wrapped up his first season as an assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University women's soccer team in 2018. He will work primarily with the team's goalkeepers.

Quinones returned to Franklin Pierce with nearly a decade of collegiate head coaching experience, as he served as the bench boss for the women's team at Division III University of Southern Maine for eight seasons. From 1998-2005, he guided the Huskies to a 65-69-9 (.486 winning percentage) mark, including a high-water mark of 12-8-0 in 2000, which still stands as the program's record for wins in a single season. The 65 career wins makes Quinones the all-time winningest coach in the history of the USM women's program, while the .486 winning percentage is the best in program annals as well. While in Gorham, Quinones coached a trio of NSCAA All-New England selections, including two-time honoree Ali Hathaway, who was also named Little East Conference Player of the Year in 1999.

At the youth level, Quinones has previously served as an assistant coach and goalkeeping trainer with the United States U17 and U18 women's national teams. Most recently, he has been plying his trade at the local level, training goalkeepers throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The move to the Franklin Pierce bench marked a return to his collegiate roots for Quinones, who played for the men's soccer team at Franklin Pierce from 1987-1991, during the era when the institution was making its transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II. Through the 2017 season, the former two-time NSCAA All-Region selection was still the program's all-time leader in save percentage (.819), while ranking in the top-10 in program history in goals-against average (1.31) and shutouts (27).

A 1991 graduate of the University, Quinones was inducted into the Franklin Pierce Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
