Bio

Steve Hennessey wrapped up his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach for both the Franklin Pierce men's and women's soccer teams in 2016. Hennessey assists in working with both teams' goalkeepers.

A native of Essex, Vt., Hennessey played both soccer and ice hockey at Western New England College. On the soccer pitch, Hennessey was named a captain during his senior season, and was selected to The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) All-Star First-Team and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-New England Division III Second-Team.  He was also named WNEC Co-Male Athlete of the Year for the 2007-2008 school year.  Hennessey helped guide WNEC to three conference titles, and appearances in the first four NCAA Championship tournaments in school history. During the summer of 2007, he played in every game for the Vermont Voltage of the Premier Development League as the starting goalkeeper, leading the entire PDL in saves and minutes played.

Hennessey has also served in prior assistant coaching stints, including Saint Michael's College as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2008.  

He graduated from Western New England in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in Sport Management. He earned his master's degree from Franklin Pierce in 2015.
