HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The first half was a tight contest. Both teams battled to gain possession in the midfield. The Panthers and Ravens had equal opportunities to net the first goal of the game but couldn't convert or get past the goalkeepers with the first half being scoreless 0-0.

  • However, after 11 minutes into the second half. Raven forward Olivia Kudrikow (Plymouth, Mass.) found a lane through the defense and found Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.), who broke away from the remaining Panther defenders. After beating the goalkeeper with some good foot skill, all Peirce had to do was simply pass the ball into the net which gave the Ravens the 1-0 lead but would end up being the game winning goal.

INSIDE THE LINES:

  • Senior goalkeeper Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) would earn the win, making 6 saves in her 11th shutout of the season.

  • The Ravens outshot the Panthers 17 to 12.

  • The Ravens had 2 corner kicks while the Panthers didn't have a corner in the game.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: With today's win, the women's soccer team wins their 9th NE10 title in program history, the first in the last six years. The Ravens will now wait for the NCAA tournament selection show to find out who they will face in the NCAA DII soccer tournament. The show is tomorrow night (11/18) at 7 PM on ncaa.com
