GREENWOOD, Ind. (November 16, 2022) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's soccer team has had five players named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday. Sophomore Delaney Farinha (Preston, Conn.), sophomore Salome Kerguillec (Landerneau, France), junior Aino Martikainen (Järvenpää, Finland), senior Tess McKenzie (Warren, R.I.) and sophomore Makenzie Shean (Agawam, Mass.) were all honored, and will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

To be eligible for selection, each student-athlete must own a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average or higher, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have participated in at least half of their team's games. Schools were limited to six nominations per school, with all nominees who met the criteria earning Academic All-District honors. The Academic All-America Team will be voted on by sports information directors across the nation.

It was the first career Academic All-District selection or all five Ravens. The Academic All-America Team is expected to be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Farinha boasts a 3.70 GPA as a marketing major and has appeared in 18 games this fall, including 13 starts. She has tallied 10 points, on four goals and two assists, and attempted 25 shots, including 12 on goal.
