First weekly award in Finlay's career

RINDGE, N.H. (October 15, 2013) – Franklin Pierce University freshman standout Madison Finlay (Plymouth, Mass.) on Tuesday was named the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week. It marks the first weekly conference award in Finlay’s career.

The rookie forward scored twice in the second half to lead Franklin Pierce to a 2-0 win over Saint Michael’s last Tuesday.

She scored her first marker four minutes into the second half, as she slipped a shot past the diving St. Mike’s goalkeeper into the lower left corner of the net to break the scoreless tie.

Finlay put the match out of reach in the 75^th minute when she worked her way into the center of the box to collect a loose ball and slip another shot to the same corner of the net as her first tally.

Finlay currently leads the team with four goals and 10 points, while tying for second on the squad with a pair of assists. Her 39 shots, with 18 of those going on goal, rank as the highest totals on the team.

Franklin Pierce returns to action Wednesday when the Ravens play host to Saint Anselm at 4 p.m. on Sodexo Field in Rindge.
