#16 Women's Soccer Falls to Le Moyne 2-0

Ravens outshoot Dolphins 22-5, but can't get one by Le Moyne GK Tynan

RINDGE, N.H. (September 11, 2011) – The 16th-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Le Moyne on Sunday afternoon at Sodexo Field in Rindge. The Ravens lost for the first time this season in falling to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the Northeast-10. Le Moyne improved to 2-2 and 1-2 in league play.

Franklin Pierce outshot the Dolphins by a count of 22-5, but could not get anything past Le Moyne goalkeeper Felicia Tynan, who made five saves to earn the shutout victory and improve to 2-2 on the year.

Ravens sophomore forward Talita Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) fired off a game-high 10 shots, while senior forward Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.) added eight shots.

Le Moyne scored both of its goals in the second half, including the first one from Rachel Farneti in the 49th minute as she scored off a deflected pass to make it 1-0. The Dolphins capped the scoring in the 58th minute when Christie Morano tracked down a long pass, dribbled down the center of the field, and fired off a shot that hit the lower right corner of the goal.

Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Jocelyn Leon (Lenox, Mass.) made one save in the setback to fall to 3-1 on the season.

Franklin Pierce returns to action on Wednesday when the Ravens travel to Colchester, Vt. to face Saint Michael's at 4:30 p.m.
