Junior forward has a 3.81 GPA in mass communications

RINDGE, N.H. (November 3, 2010) – Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer standout Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.) was recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I First-Team for her efforts on the field, but more importantly in the classroom. It marks the second major accolade for Panaro this week, as on Monday, she was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First-Team. By being named to the Academic District I First-Team, Panaro is now eligible to be placed on the Academic All-America Team, which will be announced at a later date.

In the classroom, Panaro is a mass communications major and sports an impressive 3.81 cumulative grade point average. On the field, she is one of the top players in the Northeast-10 and leads the league in goals with 18. She has twice recorded a hat-trick this season.

Wednesday’s academic honor marks the third-straight year Panaro has been recognized for her studies. She was placed on the Northeast-10 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll during his freshman and sophomore seasons, while also earning a spot on the NE-10 Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team in 2009.

Panaro serves as one of two captains on the 2010 Franklin Pierce women’s soccer team, which is currently competing for a Northeast-10 Championship. The Ravens are back in action Thursday afternoon when they travel to North Andover, Mass. to face Merrimack in the semifinals of the NE-10 Championship. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m
