SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 13, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's soccer team picked up its second-straight win overall and snapped a two-match road losing streak with a 1-0 triumph at American International in Springfield, Mass. on Wednesday night. The Ravens improved to 9-3-1 overall and 7-3-1 in Northeast-10 action. AIC dipped to 9-5 overall and 7-5 in league play.

Senior midfielder Shona Franklin (Birmingham, England) scored the game's lone goal in the opening minute of the second half to help lift the Ravens to victory. It was her sixth of the season with five of those coming via game-winner. Wednesday's night game-winning goal was unassisted.

Franklin recorded a team-best eight shots, including putting five on goal, while junior forward Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.) also recorded five shots on goal in her six attempts. Junior midfielder Tori Gikas (Sydney, Australia) totaled four shots, including getting three on net.

Franklin Pierce, as a team, recorded 22 shots, including getting 15 of those on goal. The Ravens' backs turned in a strong performance by limiting the Yellow Jackets to just four shots on goal in only 10 attempts.
