Franklin Pierce Soccer Teams Set for Long Island Weekend

4-ranked women's soccer team to travel to #8 Adelphi Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Men's soccer at #4 Dowling Sunday at 1 p.m.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 15, 2004) - The NCAA has announced the dates, times and locations for this weekend Division II Quarterfinal matches.

The Franklin Pierce women, ranked No. 4 in the final regular season NSCAA/adidas Division II poll, will face No. 8 Adelphi University on Saturday, November 20, at Stiles Field in Garden City, N.Y., at 12:30 p.m.

The Ravens, the only higher seed being sent on the road for the quarterfinal round, will be seeking their 13th-straight Final Four berth against the team it has defeated each of the last two years in the quarterfinal round. The winner of Saturday's match will face the winner of Sunday's match between Southeast Region Champion and No. 7-ranked Carson-Newman University (16-1-2) and South Region Champs and Lincoln Memorial University (12-4-2) in the National Semifinals on Thursday, December 2, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The Franklin Pierce men will travel to No. 4-ranked Dowling College for their quarterfinal match on Sunday, November 21, at 1 p.m. The Ravens will be seeking their first Final Four berth since 1991, while the Golden Lions will be in search of a second-straight Final Four appearance.

The winner of Sunday's match will face the winner of this weekend's match between Far West Champion and No. 1-ranked Seattle University (18-0-2) and Midwest Champion and No. 8-ranked University of the Incarnate Word (18-3-1) in the National Semifinals on Friday, December 3, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Franklin Pierce is one of just two schools in Division II to have both a men's and women's team playing in this weekend's semifinal round. Seattle University's men's and women's clubs have also advanced to the semifinals.
