HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter saw Bridgeport get on the score sheet first netting two in the first two minutes from Elizabeth Pitts and Terenza Kreuvoza. The Ravens would get one back off a Maura Cogavin (Franklin, MA) goal before the Purple Knights would get ahead once more through Max McDermott. While Emily Ulmer (Bedford, N.H.) netted one for the Ravens to reduce the deficit Samantha Targonski would score just over a minute later to put the Purple Knights ahead by two yet again. However, the Ravens would complete the comeback thanks to goals from Hayley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, N.Y.) and Erin Mcllroy (Newsfields, N.H.) and tie the game at 4-4. With thirty seconds left in the quarter the ball fell to Ulmer who slotted the ball into the back of the net putting the Ravens ahead for the first time 5-4. Despite the Ravens heroics it would be the Purple Knights who would have the last word of the quarter as Tara Dimaio netted with just six seconds left to tie it back up 5-5.
- The second quarter would see more of the same with both teams going goal for goal in what was a very intense quarter. The Ravens came out pouncing putting themselves ahead by two off goals from Mcllroy and Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, MA). Dimaio and Kreuzova would net a pair of their own to bring the Purple Knights level with the Ravens 7-7 with just about five minutes to play. Twenty seconds later Cogavin scored her second of the game to put the Ravens ahead 8-7 with less than four and half left in the quarter. However, it was the Purple Knights who yet again got the last laugh, netting the equalizer through Dimaoi who captured her hattrick and the last goal of the half ending 8-8.
- The third quarter saw the Raven's break free and dominate the Purple Knights with Robb scoring back-to-back goals completing her hattrick, as well as Riley Beem (Windham ME), Ulmer and Hermsdorf all getting one of their own to put the Ravens up five to the good with a score of 13-8. McDermott would notch one back for the Purple Knights and end the quarter 13-9.
- The Ravens continued their domination in the fourth quarter scoring four unanswered goals with Mcllory scoring three and Ulmer one securing a hattrick for both of them. Despite the 17-9 deficit with less than four and half to play the Purple Knights did not go down without a fight, netting two in the last two minutes from Emily Stuart and Kreuzova who claimed her own hattrick and finished the game 17-11.
