Hertl Named Runner-Up for HCA Goaltender of the Month

RINDGE, N.H. (12/7/22) – For her performance throughout the month of November, Franklin Pierce women's hockey freshman goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) was named a runner-up for Goaltender of the Month honors from the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA). The official announcement from the organization's offices came on Wednesday afternoon.

Hertl joins Northeastern University's Gwyneth Phillips as a co-runner-up, as Yale sophomore Pia Dukaric was named the recipient of the monthly honor.

Hertl started in the crease in all seven matchups for the Ravens this past month, securing a 4-2-1 record with a 0.99 goals against average, and a .962 save percentage. Of her four wins in November, Hertl also collected three shutouts for Pierce, surrendering only seven goals on 182 total shots faced throughout the month.

Hertl and women's hockey will continue onward this coming weekend, as they travel too Long Island University for a weekend series beginning on Friday, December 9th at 3:00 p.m.
