Women’s Ice Hockey’s Dajia, Kelley Pick up NEWHA Weekly Awards

WINTHROP, Mass. (February 15, 2022) -- Graduate student Katerina Dajia (Aurora, Ontario) and freshman Mikayla Kelley (Eagan, Minn.) have been named New England Women’s Hockey Alliance Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on Feb. 13, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Dajia chalked up three points, on a goal and two assists, as the Ravens swept a two-game series from Post at home over the weekend. She did all of her point-gathering in Friday night’s 6-0 win, as she scored a third-period goal after providing an assist in each of the first two frames. In all, Dajia recorded 11 shots, including eight on Friday, and was +5 over the two games, while blocking two shots as well.

Meanwhile, Kelley also had three points, with a pair of goals and an assist. On Friday night, she scored on the power play in the second period after dishing out an assist in the first. In Saturday’s 4-1 win, Kelley put home the game-winning goal early in the third period. In total, she recorded nine shots and was +2, while winning 25 of 37 faceoffs.

On the season, Dajia has played in 17 of 25 games for the Ravens and recorded 10 points (3-7-10), while leading the team in plus/minus, at +20. Kelley has 10 points as well (5-5-10), while playing in all 25 games.

Dajia, Kelley and the rest of the Ravens (16-8-1, 12-3-0 NEWHA), are back in action on the road on Tuesday afternoon at intrastate rival Saint Anselm. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. at Sullivan Rink in Manchester, N.H.
