RINDGE, N.H. (January 23, 2019) – Freshman goaltender Emme Ostrander (Westborough, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team has been named New England Women’s Hockey Alliance Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 20, as announced on Wednesday morning by the NEWHA.

She was beaten just twice at even strength as two of the week’s goals against were power play tallies.

On the season, Ostrander has logged just shy of 60% of the team’s time in net. Over 738:14 in the crease, she has made 292 saves against 313 shots, to put together a .933 save percentage and a 1.71 goals-against average. Ostrander has an 8-4-0 record with three shutouts.

It marked Ostrander’s second straight selection as NEWHA Rookie of the Week, and her third straight NEWHA weekly award overall, as she was lauded as Defensive Player of the Week two weeks ago. It was her fourth weekly award of the season, as she also earned Rookie of the Week accolades on one previous occasion.

The Ravens return to the ice on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, when they travel to Saint Michael’s for a two-game NEWHA weekend series. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday at Cairns Arena in South Burlington, Vt.
