RINDGE, N.H. (April 5, 2017) – Senior goaltender Shannon O’Neil (Tewksbury, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team has been named to the New England Hockey Writers Association Division II-III All-Star Team, as announced late last week by the organization.

SHELTON, Conn. (February 26, 2017) – Much like an animal chasing a carrot on a stick, the target kept moving for the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team on Sunday afternoon at Sacred Heart, in the consolation round of the NEHC Open Tournament. Trailing 1-0, the Ravens tied it at 1-1. Trailing 2-1, they tied it at 2-2, and so on, until tying the game at 4-4 with just 29 seconds to play on an extra-attacker goal. After overtime went scoreless, Franklin Pierce and Sacred Heart ultimately skated to a 4-4 tie, with Sacred Heart earning the third-place finish via a 2-1 shootout win, in six rounds.

SHELTON, Conn. (February 25, 2017) – It was a struggle to find offense all afternoon at Sports Center of Connecticut on Saturday for the third-seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team, which dropped a 3-0 decision to second-seeded Holy Cross in the first semifinal of the New England Hockey Conference Open Tournament, hosted by Sacred Heart. Holy Cross got a first-period goal from junior forward Kara Violette and third-period markers from senior defenseman Isabela Bagi and sophomore forward Aubrey Ashmun to come away winners.

(February 23, 2017) – Senior goaltender Shannon O’Neil (Tewksbury, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team has been named New England Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Year, as announced on Thursday morning by the Conference office. O’Neil was also named to the All-NEHC First Team, while junior forward Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) landed on the All-NEHC Third Team and freshman forward Meg Gilbride (Braintree, Mass.) was selected to the NEHC All-Rookie Team.

(February 22, 2017) – Despite piling up a 31-13 advantage in shots on goal over the first two periods, the third-seeded Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team headed for the third period stuck in a 1-1 tie with fifth-seeded Saint Michael’s on Wednesday night at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Senior forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) needed just 42 seconds in the final stanza to rectify the situation, as she put home the game-winning goal off a faceoff to help pull the Ravens to a 3-1 win in the first round of the New England Hockey Conference Open Tournament.

(February 18, 2017) – Facing an early-afternoon road start less than 16 hours removed from the conclusion of Friday’s Senior Night festivities, the offense for the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team came up empty on Saturday at Holy Cross, in the regular-season finale for both squads. The Ravens were outshot 36-14 on the day, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in New England Hockey Conference play at Hart Recreation Center. Sophomore forward Sam Girard scored the game-winning goal and later added an assist for Holy Cross.

WINCHENDON, Mass. (February 11, 2017) – It was just the third goal of her senior season, and she scored it on Senior Night. More impressive still, it came in the third period and would stand as the game-winning goal in the final regular-season home game for her and her eight fellow seniors. It was a storybook moment on Friday night at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena for senior forward Nina Danforth (Stratford, Conn.), who swatted home a rebound 5:28 into the third period to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team to a 4-3 victory over visiting Castleton. Fellow senior forwards Michelle Holmes (Goffstown, N.H.) (1-1-2) and Lanie Matsumoto (Fort Collins, Colo.) (0-2-2) had two points each for the Ravens in the New England Hockey Conference contest.

(February 11, 2017) – Freshman defenseman Delaney Guimont (Bedford, N.H.) and freshman forward Meg Gilbride (Braintree, Mass.) put home first-period goals on Saturday evening and the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team never looked back, as it rolled to a 6-0 win over New England College at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Senior forwards Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.) and Michelle Holmes (Goffstown, N.H.) scored twice each in the New England Hockey Conference victory for the Ravens, while Brolsma added a pair of assists as well for a four-point game.

With two assists already on the ledger, the goal marked her 100th career point, a moment which highlighted an 8-0 win for the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team in non-conference play against Post at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

GORHAM, Maine (February 4, 2017) – Senior forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska) bookended the scoring on Saturday afternoon, providing two-thirds of the day’s offense at USM Ice Arena, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team posted a 3-0 road win over Southern Maine in New England Hockey Conference play. (January 27, 2017) – A week removed from the signature weekend thus far in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team was back to business as usual on Friday night at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. The Ravens pumped in a pair of goals in a dominant first period and never looked back, as they surrendered just 16 shots on goal in a 3-0 shutout of Plymouth State in New England Hockey Conference play. Senior forward Alysha Raimo (Fitchburg, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal and later added an assist.

(January 21, 2017) – In just its fifth season, the Franklin Pierce University women’s ice hockey team capped the signature weekend of its history thus far on Saturday afternoon with an exclamation mark at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. Hosting second-place Holy Cross in a New England Hockey Conference contest, the Ravens got power-play goals from freshman forward Kayla Trujillo (Pueblo, Colo.) and freshman defenseman Delaney Guimont (Bedford, N.H.) 2:42 apart in the second period to erase a 1-0 deficit and take a 2-1 lead they would hold the rest of the way.
