Women’s Ice Hockey Puts 14 on NEHC All-Academic Team

RINDGE, N.H. (April 1, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team has had 14 student-athletes named to the New England Hockey Conference All-Academic Team, as announced earlier this week by the Conference office.

The NEHC All-Academic Team honors all student-athletes who carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and have completed at least one full year at their current institution. In total, 141 student athletes from the 14 Conference institutions earned the accolade, led by 16 selections from Saint Michael's.

Earning NEHC All-Academic honors for the Ravens were: senior defenseman Hayley Arnold (Barre, Vt.), senior forward Karsyn Baker (Detroit, Mich.), sophomore forward Alex Brolsma (Bloomington, Minn.), senior defenseman Samantha Bureau (Ottawa, Ontario), sophomore forward Hailee Craig (Canton, Mich.), junior forward Nina Danforth (Stratford, Conn.), sophomore forward Sara Diltz (Palmer, Alaska), senior forward Colleen Doucette (Wakefield, Mass.), senior forward Samantha Hulme (West Simsbury, Conn.), junior forward Marisa Ketterman (Palmer, Alaska), junior forward Lanie Matsumoto (Fort Collins, Colo.), junior goaltender Shannon O'Neil (Tewksbury, Mass.), senior defenseman Michelle Stock (Austin, Texas) and junior goaltender Noelle White (Corona, Calif.).

The Ravens (17-8-1, 10-7-0 NEHC) finished sixth in the NEHC in their second season in the league. Franklin Pierce claimed the third seed in the NEHC Open Tournament and ultimately took home third place with a 6-0 win over Saint Michael's in the tournament's consolation contest.
