Women’s Ice Hockey’s Hayley Arnold Named to All-NEHC Second Team

RINDGE, N.H. (February 25, 2016) – Senior defenseman Hayley Arnold (Barre, Vt.) of the Franklin Pierce University women's ice hockey team became the first player in program history to earn All-Conference honors on Thursday afternoon, when the New England Hockey Conference announced its end-of-the-season awards. For her work on the blue line this season, Arnold has been named to the All-NEHC Second Team.

The NEHC selects just 12 All-Conference players in a 14-team team league, making the spots hard to come by. With just two All-Conference Teams, Arnold's selection effectively labels her as one of the four best defensemen in the league. While playing in all 24 games so far this season, Arnold ranks third among NEHC blue liners with 21 points (4-17-21), a figure which is also good for a tie for 17th in the league in scoring among all players. The 17 assists rank fifth in the Conference. Of her 21 points, 10 have come on the power play (3-7-10), which puts Arnold fifth in the league in power-play scoring.

The Ravens (16-7-1, 10-7-0 NEHC) finished sixth in the New England Hockey Conference this winter. The team wraps up its season this weekend, as the third seed at the NEHC Open, hosted by Saint Anselm. The Ravens will meet the host and second-seeded Hawks on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 4 p.m. at Sullivan Rink in Manchester, N.H. Sunday's championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m., preceded by the consolation contest at 1 p.m.
