Women's Golf Sweeps Major Awards, Five Haul in NE10 All-Conference Accolades

MANSFIELD, Mass. (6/8/23) – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its women's golf award winners on Thursday afternoon, and named a list of five total members of the NE10 Champion Franklin Pierce program as All-Conference honorees, including a full sweep of the major awards.

For the second consecutive season, sophomore Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand) was named the NE10's Player of the Year, while head coach Tyler Bishop was tabbed as the Coach of the Year. In her first season with the program, freshman Lorelai Flanagan (Arlington, Mass.) completed the sweeping list of major award winners with Rookie of the Year distinction from the NE10 Conference. Additionally, Purkmathakul joins fellow sophomore Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand) on the NE10 All-Conference First Team, while Flanagan joined up with seniors Michaela Leandro (Harlington, Tx.) and Alia Godek () on the All-Conference Second Team.

Bishop is now a five-time NE10 Coach of the Year recipient, while Prukmathakul becomes the first NE10 individual to repeat as Player of the Year since fellow Raven Camden Morrison in 2018.

This past season, Prukmathakul finished runner-up at the NE10 Championship this past fall, scoring a two-over par (146) through two rounds, adding to a list of three second place finishes throughout the campaign. The Raven sophomore also claimed a solo tournament victory at the Saint Rose Invitational, shooting an eight-over par (152) for her 7th career win. To close out her second year, she then tied for 17th with a 226 (+10) card at the NCAA East Regional Championship, which was the highest individual position of any Raven player at the tournament.

For Flanagan, it was almost certain that the Raven freshman would take Rookie of the Year honors after claiming the NE10's Rookie of the Week on three separate occasions throughout 2022-23. During her freshman season, Flanagan secured two top-10 finishes, with one at the NE10 Championship where she finished 10th with a 24-over par (168). Flanagan also took 75th individually at the recent NCAA East Regional Championship, finishing with 252 card for 36-over par.

Ruayruen was another frequent flyer for the Ravens this past season, tying for the team lead with six top-10 finishes while also leading the program with three tournament wins in 2022-23. At the NE10 Championship, the Raven sophomore took 3rd overall with nine-over par (153) across two rounds of play, and rounded out a 55th finish at the NCAA East Regional Championship, where she shot a 241 (+25) through 54 holes played.

For the seniors, Godek now claims her fourth round of NE10 All-Conference honors and her third on the Second Team, snared four top-10 finishes in 2022-23, including a sixth place finish at the Northeast-10 Championship after shooting 16-over par (160). Leandro claims her second round of All-Conference honors after also receiving second team recognition last season. Leandro set a whole new line of career bests this past season, which included shooting her lowest individual round at the Franklin Pierce Invitational this past fall (74), and her lowest score through 36-holes (150 - +10).

Bishop, who has been at the helm of the women's program since their inaugural season in 2014-15, led the Ravens to their fourth consecutive Northeast-10 Conference title this past fall, which earned them an automatic bid and their fourth trip to the NCAA Regional stage.
