ERIE, Pa. (September 20, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team made it 2-for-2 to start the season on Monday, at the second day of the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon. Freshman Kesinee Prukmathakul (Bangkok, Thailand) did the same on the individual front. The Ravens turned in Monday's low score, a 315 (+27), on the way to the team victory, while Prukmathakul matched the low round of the day at 76 (+4) en route to medalist honors at the 5803-yard, par-72 Whispering Woods Golf Club.

Franklin Pierce's second-round 315 made it a two-day total of 627 (+51), which was good for an eight-shot victory over second-place Gannon at 313-322--635 (+59). The Ravens and Knights were both well clear of third-place Mercyhurst at 335-328--663 (+87), and the rest of the 12-team field all finished at 100 shots or more over par for the two-day event.

Individually, it was a four-shot victory for Prukmathakul, who backed up her two-shot first-round lead by sharing low-round honors on Monday to finish at 73-76--149 (+5). Gannon freshman Andrea Martinez checked in at 75-78--153 (+9) to take second, two shots in front of a three-way tie for third. Junior Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) was part of the third-place group, as she improved by one shot to move up three spots with a final line of 78-77-155 (+11). Freshman Phisonlaya Ruayruen (Chiangmai, Thailand) backed up five shots on Monday to finish at 75-80--155, as she dropped back one spot after being tied for second through one round. The pair of Ravens were joined in third by West Liberty senior Kailey Pettit at 76-79--155.

Sophomore Kayla Schuberth (Wrentham, Mass.) carded a Monday 82, improving by four shots to post an 86-82--168 (+24) line and finish solo-16th, which put all four scoring Ravens in the top 20 of the 72-golfer field. Junior Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) rounded out Franklin Pierce's five-player lineup at 87-94--181 (+37) to tie for 37th.

The Ravens had an individual in the field as well, who turned in a top-15 performance of her own. Sophomore Alexis St. Laurent (Nashua, N.H.) carded identical rounds to go for 83-83--166 (+22) and finished tied-13th.

Franklin Pierce is back in action next weekend, when the Ravens host the FPU Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 26-27, at Keene Country Club.
