Morrison Ranks First Individually, Fourth Overall After First Regional Round in Ohio

CANTON, Ohio. (May 8, 2017)  Franklin Pierce University junior women's golfer Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) traveled to Canton, Ohio and the Glenmoor Country Club to compete in the first day of the 2017 Division II Super East Regionals on Monday.

Morrison, the number one seeded golfer and first ever women's golfer to qualify for Regionals in program history, teed-off at 8:30 a.m. this morning on the par 72 6,197 yard course. She wrapped up the first day of competition at 72 (E) as she led all individual golfers. The team captain leads every golfer in the field in total number of birdies with six.

She trails the clubhouse leader by only two strokes, and holds a one stroke advantage over Alex Trask of William Jewell College and a two stroke lead over Destiny Lawson of Ferris State. The top three individuals advance to Nationals later this month.

Morrison will return to the links tomorrow with an afternoon tee time.
