Morrison Becomes First Ever Raven Selected to NCAA Regionals

RINDGE, N.H. (May 1, 2017)  For the first time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team will be represented at the NCAA Division II Tournament East Super Regional as junior team captain Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) was selected to participate as an individual it was announced Monday afternoon by the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee.

"We are very excited for Camden says head coach Tyler Bishop, she's had a great year and has been a leader on and off the golf course for our women's program." "She is looking forward to this opportunity and is ready to compete at the highest level."

The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Super Regional Competition will be conducted May 8th to 10th. Each super regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with 12 teams and 6 individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships.

Morrison, a six time Northeast-10 Conference Golfer of the Week honoree, is the no. 1 seeded golfer in the East Super Region. She has nine top-10 finishes on the year including six medals and two second place finishes. Her best round of the year came during the FPU Fall Invitational on September 4, 2016 when she golfed three under par with a 69 scorecard at the Bretwood Golf Course in Keene, N.H.

Morrison will square off against two other NE10 individual golfers as Alessandra Ricigliano (no. 3 seed) and Krystal Knight (no. 5 seed) from Merrimack College will make the trip to the Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio, a 7,018 par 72 championship golf course.
