RINDGE, N.H. (September 23, 2014) – Franklin Pierce Women’s Golfer Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Women’s Golf Rookie of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. The accolade comes on the heels of a third place individual finish at the LeMoyne Fall Invitational in Baldwinsville, N.Y. over the weekend.

Haynes has helped propel the Franklin Pierce women’s golf program into serious contention talks immediately out of the gate, as it makes its debut as a varsity sport in Rindge this year. Along with her classmates, Haynes has started the program off with first and second place team finishes in the first two tournaments of competition.

Individually, Haynes shot an 87/89/176 (+32) over the weekend giving her the third place finish. This comes after a second place finish at the FPU Fall Invitational against Southern New Hampshire last week, where she shot an 82 (+10), finishing behind teammates Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) and Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.) who tied for first. In her first two tournaments, Haynes has yet to finish outside the Top 3, making her a candidate to make an impact later in the season.
