ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (October 29, 2016) - The Franklin Pierce women's bowling team competed on Saturday in the second day of the New Jersey Jamboree at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, N.J.

The Ravens started off the day with three straight wins, but dropped the last two contests of the afternoon to finish 3-2. FPU's record this point in the season is 16-7. The team currently stands in seventh place, a five spot improvement from yesterday with a total pin fall of 9,076.

The five spot advancement in the standings was due to the Ravens knocking down 230 more pins than the first day of competition.

The Crimson and Grey started off the day strong with a 938-893 victory over no. 20 nationally ranked St. Francis (N.Y.) which was their second win of the season against them. Freshman Krysta Peirce (Lenox, Mich.) tallied the high score for the Ravens and teammate Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) bowled a 197. Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) racked up a 194 and Jessica Marcure (Attleboro, Mass.) rolled a 183.

Versus Lincoln Memorial, Kelly led the way at 214 and was joined by Marcure with a 210 score. Freshman Katey Comstock (Hartland, Vt.) racked up a 194 and Davies threw a 190 in the 961-804 Raven victory.

In the final win of the day (900-865) over no. 15 nationally-ranked Saint Francis (Pa.), Davies was the team leader with a 191 showing.

Marcure performed well in both losses as the junior rolled a 201 in the setback versus Youngstown State (925-969) and a 202 against no. 6 nationally-ranked Sam Houston State (929, 1,007). Davies recorded the highest single score of the afternoon with a 216 in the duel with Sam Houston State.
