RINDGE, N.H. (November 18, 2017) – Four Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team starters scored in double-figures including senior guard Jemma Thacker's (Nairne, South Australia) team-leading 19 points and eight rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Northeast-10 Conference foe Southern New Hampshire University came into the Fieldhouse and handed the Crimson and Grey an 85-68 setback in their home opener on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Penmen charge forward to .500 overall at 2-2 and remain undefeated in NE10 play (2-0) while the Ravens fall to 1-3, 0-2 NE10.

Terry and Camara drained the freebies to move their team ahead 11-4. Camara capped off the 14-5 scoring binge halfway through the first quarter by connecting on a corner three-ball. With 35 seconds left, Lorenzen made two free throws to push the Penmen advantage to 20-9.

Mayo began the second quarter with an old-fashioned three-point play to cut the Raven deficit to single figures at 20-12. Mosley then anticipated a pass, picked off the rock and went the other way for a fast break two to make it a two-possession game at 20-14. Stinson immediately answered by hitting a three-ball to push the edge back to nine. With the Ravens trailing by nine, 27-18, Thacker notched five straight points off a layup and a three-pointer from the corner to cut the Ravens deficit to four. Terry continued her assault from downtown by knocking down three straight threes to reestablish a 10 point lead at 37-27. Thacker made a layup at the buzzer as the Ravens trailed 45-37.

The Penmen lead moved to 15 points as Stinson found Lorenzen for a driving two. The Penmen closed the quarter outscoring the Ravens 14-6 to hold a 70-54 edge after three.
