BURLINGTON, Vt. (June 8, 2010) – Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) was named the co-winner of the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Woman-of-the-Year award on Monday evening at the league’s annual year-in-review banquet in Burlington, Vt. Leedham will now advance as one of the two conference nominees for the NCAA Woman-of-the-Year award, which will be announced later this summer.

(April 27, 2010) – Franklin Pierce University senior standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) was awarded with the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award for the sport of women’s basketball on Tuesday. The award is given to one student-athlete in each of the sports sponsored by the NE-10 and it recognizes that student-athlete’s success on the field/court and in the classroom.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 18, 2010) – Five Franklin Pierce student-athletes were recently named to the 2010 Northeast-10 Winter Academic All-Conference team in their respective sports. Junior guard Kinard Dozier (Dedham, Mass.) earned a spot on the men’s basketball squad, while senior standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) and junior guard Cynthia Gaudet (Coventry, R.I.) were named to the women’s basketball team. In ice hockey, senior forward Phil LaBreck (Thornton, N.H.) and junior forward Sean Woodring (Rogue River, Oregon) each earned a spot on the academic squad. Franklin Pierce was tied for the most academic selections in each of the three sports listed above.

(April 8, 2010) -- Franklin Pierce University women's basketball senior standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) was selected by the Connecticut Sun with the 27th overall pick in the third round of the 2010 WNBA Draft on Thursday. It marks the latest honor for Leedham, who concluded her career with three national player-of-the-year awards following the season. It marks the first WNBA draft selection in Franklin Pierce history, as the women's basketball program has seen its share of firsts over the past three seasons.

(March 24, 2010) -- The second-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team dropped a tough 79-64 decision to sixth-ranked Fort Lewis on Wednesday night in the NCAA Division II Final Four at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph's, Mo. Despite the loss, Franklin Pierce had an amazing 2009-10 season and finished with an impressive 32-2 record -- the most wins in a single season in program history.

(March 23, 2010) -- The second-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team downed fourth-ranked Arkansas Tech on Tuesday afternoon by a count of 77-62 in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight quarterfinals at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph's, Mo. The Ravens ran their record to 32-1 overall, while the Suns concluded their season with a 29-3 mark. With the win, Franklin Pierce now advances to the national semifinals on Wednesday night where the Ravens will face Fort Lewis at 7 p.m. (ET)/6 p.m. (CT) on national television on ESPNU.

RINDGE, N.H. (March 16, 2010) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball team is going back to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the third-consecutive year! The Ravens punched their ticket to St. Joseph’s, Mo. with a thrilling 82-79 overtime win over Holy Family on Monday night in the NCAA East Regional Final. It was the third-straight regional title for Franklin Pierce as the Ravens captured it in front of their home fans as the University hosted the tournament at nearby Fitchburg State College.

(March 13, 2010) – The No. 2 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball team set a program record with its 30th win of the season on Saturday as it downed Molloy, 76-58, in the semifinals of the 2010 NCAA Division II East Regional in Fitchburg, Mass. The top-seeded Ravens (30-1), advanced to Monday’s regional final, as they will face No. 2 seed Holy Family at 7 p.m. in the Recreation Center at Fitchburg State College.
