D’Ettorre Named to NE-10 All-Rookie Team

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, native is second player in program history named to team

RINDGE, N.H. (March 8, 2004) - Franklin Pierce freshman forward Danielle D'Ettorre (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario/St. Mary's) was voted to the Northeast-10 Conference's third annual Women's Basketball All-Rookie team by the Conference's 15 head coaches. The announcement was made at the Northeast-10 Final Four in North Andover, Mass., over the weekend.

Joining D'Ettorre on the All-Rookie team are Mary Lewis from the College of Saint Rose, Jevonne Rayner of Saint Michael's College, Bryant College's Joanna Skiba and Courtney Ludwig from Saint Rose.            

D'Ettorre, a four-time Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week this past season, led Franklin Pierce with 10.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 24.4 minutes per game. She saw action in all 27 contests, starting 23. D'Ettorre hit a team-best 78-percent (78-100) of her free-throw attempts to go with a 41.5% (102-246) effort from the field.

D'Ettorre led the Ravens in scoring nine times this winter and rebounding on five occasions. She recorded her lone double-double of the season with a 14-point, 11-rebound effort to go with three steals in a win over Mansfield (Pa.) University on November 22 at the Bridgeport Purple Knight Classic and earned MVP honors at the event.

D'Ettorre scored a season-high 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field to go with five rebounds, three steals and two blocks against Stonehill College on November 30. She matched her season-best with 25 points on 8-14 shooting from the field and 9-11 from the line at Southern Connecticut State on January 10.

D'Ettorre joins teammate Patricia Lang (Monroe, N.H./Saint Johnsbury Academy) as the lone Franklin Pierce player to earn All-Rookie status in the three seasons the Northeast-10 has sponsored the award.

Franklin Pierce closed the 2003-2004 season with an 8-19 record overall, 3-19 in the Northeast-10 for 13th place.
