Two weekly offensive awards are the most in the league this season

RINDGE, N.H. (October 8, 2013) – Franklin Pierce University running back D.J. MacDonald (Mattapoisett, Mass.) was named the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for his amazing six touchdown performance in last Friday’s 66-12 win at Princeton.

It marked the second time in the last three weeks the sophomore running back took home the league’s top weekly offensive award, as he also earned the honor on Sept. 24 following the Ravens’ 13-6 win over Cornell to claim the 2013 Allegiance Bowl championship. MacDonald’s two weekly offensive awards are the most for any player in the league this season.

MacDonald was nothing short of sensational in Friday’s road win at Princeton. He touched the ball just 11 times, but produced 174 yards of total offense, including rushing 10 times for 130 yards (13.0 ypc) and five touchdowns. He also hauled in a touchdown pass of 44 yards.

MacDonald scored five times alone in the first quarter on runs of 57, 21, 9, and 3 yards, while also catching the long TD pass. He capped his night with a three-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.

MacDonald ranks among the top offensive threats in the CSFL, as his 332 rushing yards are the second most in the league. His eight touchdowns (5 rushing, 3 receiving) are the most of any player in the league.

Franklin Pierce returns to action Friday when the Ravens travel to Philadelphia to face the University of Pennsylvania at 7 p.m.
