MANSFIELD, Mass. (5/1/23) – Franklin Pierce softball freshman Amy Jones (San Diego, Calif.) was named the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Rookie of the Week for the week of April 24^th-30^th. Jones was a driving force as a leadoff batter in the Raven lineup on their way to a 3-1 week, earning a sweep over American International and a split with Assumption University, all at home.

For Jones, it is her first time receiving weekly honors from the Northeast-10 Conference.

Jones, through Pierce's four-game homestand, came up huge for the Ravens with five hits in ten appearances at the plate, finishing with a .500 batting average on the week. Throughout the same span, the first-year standout was walked four times, scored four runs, drove in three RBI and hit her first collegiate home run from inside the park. In addition to one stolen base, she he also contributed a .667 on-base percentage, slugged .800 and was a perfect 1.000 from the field with 9 putouts and two assists.

Jones and Pierce softball prepares for the start of Northeast-10 Conference Tournament play this week, where they will travel down to top-seeded host Adelphi University to face the winner of Tuesday's No. 7 Le Moyne and No. 6 Assumption play-in contest on Thursday, May 4^th.
