Ashley Cangiano Becomes Softball's All-Time Leader in Career RBI

RINDGE, N.H. (4/17/23) – History was made at Bisaccia Field this past weekend, as junior Ashley Cangiano (North Attleboro, Mass.) officially became the softball program's all-time leader in career RBI (95).

The career milestone passes a record previously held by five-year first baseman Gina Hinckley, who set the 94 RBI mark during the 2021-22 campaign. Cangiano officially set the new standard during this past weekend's doubleheader matchup with Pace University, where she unloaded a pair of homers with six total RBI to assist the Ravens in an 11-0 win over the Setters in game two. Cangiano additionally continues to climb the leaderboards with now 98 RBI on the season, which ranks second in the Northeast-10 Conference behind fellow teammate Haley Bigwood (Athol, Mass.). The Raven junior also holds the second-best batting average (.438) in the NE10, as well as the second-most stolen bases (20).

Across her three-season tenure with the Ravens thus far, Cangiano has connected for 135 career hits in 329 appearances at the plate, including 25 doubles, 16 triples and 12 career home runs. In addition to her 98 runs batted in, Cangiano has also scored 82 times herself, and has stolen 31 extra bases throughout her career.
