Rowing V4+ Claims Win, V8+ Takes Second at Assumption University Duals

WORCESTER, Mass. (4/8/23) – The Franklin Pierce rowing program weathered some more difficult regatta conditions on Saturday morning, as they raced a pair of boats at the Assumption University Duals on Lake Quinsigamond at the Donahue Rowing Center.

In addition to host Assumption University, Bryant Unniversity and Simmons College were both included in the mix of participating teams. The Ravens Varsity 8+ boat competed against all three opposing schools early on Saturday, and claimed 2nd-overall out of four with a race time of 8:01.86, just 0:22.5 behind winner Bryant University (7:39.36)

Additionally, making their spring debut at the event, the Ravens earned a top-finish from their Varsity 4+ boat with a winning time of 8:29.20, finishing ahead of a pair of Bryant boats (8:47.50 & 10:06.70) along with a solo Assumption vessel (9:19.85).

Next weekend, Pierce rowing will spend a pair of days competing in Pennsauken, New Jersey at the Knecht Cup Regatta on Saturday, April 15th and Sunday, April 16th.
