RINDGE, N.H. (June 2, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University women's rowing team has announced the signing of seven athletes for their incoming fall class. The Ravens will welcome Sophia Alexandrou (Windham, N.H.), Laurel Branco (Westport, Mass.), Tatyana Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Phoebe DuFour (Davidsonville, Mass.), Katie Everett (Orange, Conn.), Taylor Palmer (Albany, N.Y.), and Kelsey Parker (Dummerston, Vt.).

PHILADELPHIA (May 14, 2016) – For their second consecutive race weekend, the Franklin Pierce University rowing program’s Freshman Four put up a great fight and rowed a fantastic race, only to fall 1.25 seconds short of the team’s first ever trip to the finals, at the 78th Dad Vail Regatta.

WORCESTER, Mass. (April 30, 2016) – The flow of time can be so very cruel. In less time than the blink of an eye, the Franklin Pierce University rowing team’s Freshman Four fell short of the program’s first medal at New England Rowing Championships since 2003, falling by .002 seconds to rivals Merrimack College. In addition to being the most heartbreaking moment of the day, it was the closest margin between any two boats of the 165 that raced on Saturday, and perhaps the closest margin between any two boats in the history of the race, dating back to 1982.

(April 23, 2016) – In its final race before New England Rowing Championships, the Franklin Pierce University women’s rowing team competed at the Northeast-10 Challenge on Lake Quinsigamond. The Ravens continued to take critical steps in their race development, as they move into the championship portion of their schedule.

LOWELL, Mass. (April 16, 2016) – The 2015 NCAA runners-up, Mercyhurst University, made a very rare trip from Erie, Pa., to New England to face off against the Franklin Pierce University rowing team, along with Merrimack College and Assumption College this weekend at the UMass Lowell Invitational. This race marked the second weekend in a row that the Ravens shared water with the Lakers, and both the weather conditions and results were eerily similar to their Knecht Cup encounter the previous weekend.

BOSTON (October 19, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s rowing team competed at the 51st Annual Head of the Charles Regatta over the weekend. The event was highlighted by the christening of the team’s new Resolute 8+ rowing shell, named after Irene Gudewicz of the Grimshaw-Gudewicz foundation. The new shell was christened by Bernie Taradash, who manages the foundation, along with team captains, juniors Kirsten Salois (Pelham, N.H.) and Megan DeFelice (Chester, N.H.).

Lowell, MA (October 5, 2015)- The Women's rowing team opened their 2015 fall season in grand fashion at the Textile River Regatta in Lowell, MA as the Women's Freshman Four began the morning with a dominating performance over the field, finishing the 6000 meter course with a time of 26:41.9. The four, comprised of senior coxswain Mary Quinn (Erie,PA), and freshmen Kyra Fairley (Kingston,NY), Mackenzie Hitch (Oregon, OH), Julia Canova (Avon,CT) and Onyeris Lopez-Maldonado (Hyde Park,MA), brought home the program?s first ever gold medal from Textiles.
