Women’s Rowing makes 2014-15 debut at Textile River Regatta

LOWELL, Mass. (October 5, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce women’s rowing team made their 2014-15 debut on Sunday, as the Ravens had multiple boats entered in the Textile River Regatta held on the Merimack River in Lowell, Mass.

The Ravens first competed in the Women’s Club 8+, and finished 15 out of 15 with a time of 26:08.939. The winning time came from Wesleyen University with a time of 21:24.2. The eight boat consisted of Mary Quinn (Erie, Pa.) as the coxswain, Jenna Chiavelli (Methuen, Mass.) at the eight, Kirsten Salois (Pelham, N.H.) at the seven, Emily Morrill (Lowell, Mass.) at the six, Megan DeFelice (Chester, N.H.) at the five, Bridgit Connors (Milford, Conn.) at the four, Paige McGroarty (Quincy, Mass.) at the three, Nicole Rode (Thomstown, Conn.) at the two, and Ashley Lavoie (Coventry, R.I.) at the bow.

Lastly, the Ravens entered into the Women’s Open 4+, and finished 13 out of 24 with a time of 25:29.2. The winning boat came from Bowdoin College with a time of 23:49.6. The Ravens four boat consisted of Bianca Baldelli (Stonington, Conn.) at the coxswain, Hayley Brown (Newbury, Mass.) at the four, Paige McGroarty at the three, Nicole Rode at the two, Madeline Morrill (Greenville, Pa.) at the bow.
