Men's & Women's Rowing Compete at Quinsigamond Snake Regatta

Women's varsity four finishes 11th out of 21 teams

RESULTS

SHREWSBURY, Mass. (October 13, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s and women’s rowing teams traveled to Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday and competed in the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta in Shrewsbury, Mass.

The men’s team featured its varsity-four boat in the competition, as the squad finished in 14th place out of 21 teams in a time of 16:45.21. The four boat was comprised of Harrison Harkey (New Canaan, Conn.) at the stroke, Michael Petrowski (Tewksbury, Mass.) at the three, Joseph Wilhemy (Shrewsbury, Mass.) at the two, Jackson Dean (Cohasset, Mass.) at the bow and Erika Hebert (Leominster, Mass.) as the coxswain. 

The women’s team also featured its varsity-four boat in the event and placed 11th out of 21 teams in a time of 19:24.66. The four boat included Leah Kaczanowicz (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) at the stroke, Rhiannan McIntyre (Worcester, Mass.) at the three, Hayley Brown (Newbury, Mass.) at the two, Madelene Morrill (Greenville, Pa.) at the bow and Dayna Mercadante (Millville, Mass.) as the coxswain.

The men’s and women’s rowing teams will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 28 when they close out their fall season by competing in the Amherst Invitational Sprints on the Connecticut River in Hadley, Mass.
