Women's Rowing Varsity-Four Boat Finishes Third in Petit Final at New England Championship

Ravens turn in solid showing heading into Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia next weekend

WORCESTER, Mass. (May 4, 2013) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's rowing team entered its varsity-four boat into the petit finals of the 2013 New England Rowing Championships on Saturday and finished third out of six teams in a time of 8:33.689 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. 

Merrimack won the petit in a time of 8:10.526, while Brandeis took runner-up honors with a mark of 8:27.176.

Franklin Pierce's varsity-four boat consisted of Jess Whittemore at the stroke, Leah Kaczanowicz (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) at the three, Natasha Pastor (Fitzwilliam, N.H.) at the two, Hayley Brown (Newbury, Mass.) at the bow and Erika Hebert (Leominster, Mass.) as the coxswain.
